Die Walküre – Live from La Scala (actually rebroadcast in HD)

Flosshilde, Siegmund and the Decider were thwarted in their attempt to see this HD in Davis, CA on Dec 19th due to technical difficulties at the theater.  However, there is a showing in Campbell, CA in January.  You may wish to go. 

Flosshilde and Siegmund saw the Das Rheingold from La Scala which features the rôle debut of Rene Papé as Wotan (and a fine Wotan he is).  Hopefully the scantily clad, contortionist ballet dancers (yes, ballet dancers – ick) will be deleted from Die Walküre staging.  The La Scala Die Walküre also features Nina Stemme as Brünnhilde and Waltraud Meier as Sieglinde.  Maestro Barenboim leads the orchestra.
