Membership Details

The Society offers three forms of membership:

  • Regular Membership $80 – Includes voting privileges, subscription to the scholarly journal Leitmotive, free admission to most programs, advance notice of special events, group ticket offerings and eligibility to apply for Bayreuth tickets.
  • Dual (same household) $150 – Includes all the benefits of a Regular Membership for both members of the same household.
  • Youth (full-time students to age 25) $25 – Includes all the benefits of Regular Membership.

All memberships are per person/couple.  It should be noted that only one Bayreuth ticket will be allocated per Regular Membership or two tickets for Dual Members.

Additional Support:  

As is the case with many non-profits , dues alone may not cover all the costs of maintaining a vital and thriving Society.  With additional support to the General Fund the Wagner Society can continue to maintain the highest quality in programs, events and publications.  Donations to the William O. Cord Memorial Grant Fund support the development of aspiring Wagner artists and scholars. You will have the opportunity to make a donation when you complete your membership.

Donate to the 40th Anniversary Fund
In 2025, we are celebrating our 40th anniversary and laying the groundwork to continue our mission for the next 40 years by creating a special “40th Anniversary Fund.” Our financial cushion has been eroded due to inflation and other increased costs. With a fundraising goal of $40,000, this Fund will help us maintain the quality of our programming and enhance future efforts to bring greater understanding of Wagner, his life, and his works. Donate to the Grant Program

An important activity for the Wagner Society is to support the education and development of young Wagnerian artists and scholars. In 1985 the Society established the WILLIAM O. CORD MEMORIAL GRANT FUND and created a Grant Committee to solicit and evaluate applications for support. Since then many promising young singers and production artists have been awarded grants, and several have gone on to launch international careers.
