It is with great sadness that we bid Leb’ wohl to Consul General Peter Rothen and his wife Gerlind Rothen. The Rothens are posted to Shanghai and we will soon have a new Consul General.

Over the past years the Peter and Gerlind have hosted the Wagner Society in their beautiful German Residence for memorable events.

There is an opportunity this week to bid them a fond farewell. The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival will be screening the award winning film “Run, Boy, Run” at the Castro Theater on Tuesday July 29th at 6:15 p.m. Peter and Gerlind Rothen will be in attendance.

The film “Run, Boy, Run” is about an eight year old Jewish boy in Nazi occupied Poland. Based on a true story, the film is a rare Holocaust story narrated by a child. The film a German-French collaboration was premiered in Warsaw in January 2014. Director Pierre Danquart will be at the screening.
