Monumental Cast for Lucerne Ring 2013

For it’s first ever Ring performance in Lucerne, Lucerne Festival organizers have pulled out the stops. With so many Ring performances all over Germany during Wagner’s 200th Jubilee Year, the question arises: Who will sing? There are only so many helden tenors and hochdramatische sopranos.

Wotan: Albert Dohmen; Brünnhilde (Walküre and Götterdämmerung): Petra Lang; Brünnhilde (Siegfried): Eva Johanssen; Siegmund: Klaus Florian Vogt; Sieglinde/Freia: Megan Miller; Siegfried: Torsten Kerl; Fafner/Hunding/Hagen: Mikhail Petrenko; Alberich: Johannes Martin Kränzle; Loge: Adrian Eröd; Fricka: Elizabeth Kulman

This will be a concert performance with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jonathan Nott and the Berlin Radio Choir led by Bayreuth’s own choral director Eberhard Friedrich. August 30, 31 and September 2 and 4, 2013 Prices are 120 to 960 Swiss Franc. The exchange rate at this time puts the Swiss Franc very close to the dollar.
