LvanB – A heartfelt tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven

November 12, 2022 - 9:00 am

Our final Member program for 2022 will be held at the JCC-SF on Saturday November 12 at 1:00 p.m. Our guest is Professor Scott Foglesong who will present: “LvanB”! Scott describes this talk as “A heartfelt tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven, he who gave us Kunst with a capital K, HE whose Ninth Symphony Wagner described as “the mystical goal of all my strange thoughts and desires about music.” While we’re (belatedly) celebrating LvanB’s 250th birthday, we’ll try to keep the strange desires to a minimum.”
Scott Foglesong is Chair of Music Theory and Musicianship, Technology and Applied Musicianship at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Foglesong also teaches at U.C. Berkeley and the Fromm Institute. He annotates programs for the San Francisco Symphony, California Symphony, Philhamonia Baroque and the Las Vegas Symphony. The program will take place at the JCC-SF 3200 California Street, San Francisco. Please note, we will make every effort to capture this program on video. If successful the Vimeo link will be forwarded to all members for viewing at home.
