Dear Lieder lovers,
LIEDER ALIVE! is honored to collaborate with the San Francisco International Piano Festival for their opening Sommer Schubertiade, featuring our beloved Artist-in-Residence Kindra Scharich and treasured concert pianist (also the Festival’s Founder and Artistic Director) Jeffrey LaDeur.
On August 20th at 7:30 PM, they will share a selection of Schubert’s most beautiful and timeless Lieder — Fruhlingsglaube, Auf dem Wasser zu singen, Sei mir Gegrüßt, Die Nebensonnen, Der Lindenbaum, Nacht und Träume — interspersed with the expansive four movements of his Sonata in G Major, considered by Robert Schumann as “Schubert’s most perfect in form and conception.”
Although we’re sad (albeit resigned and patient!) we cannot yet experience live Lieder with you, we’re inspired to offer you this wonderful chance to see and hear a live-streamed “Healing for our Times” program — Lieder and solo piano at home — for free!
Ever since 2017, the San Francisco International Piano Festival has welcomed audiences to come together in celebration of music at the piano. Held in the last two weeks of August, the festival has served as a summer swan song.
This year the San Francisco International Piano Festival is presenting its fourth annual season FREE to the public in a variety of virtual formats, combining retrospective highlights alongside commissioned programs — “A Season of Refection.”
