The Rubin Institute for Music Criticism, founded at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, will hold it’s first symposium November 6-10 in San Francisco. The events take place in numerous locations and several are imbeded in performances being held at the Symphony, Opera, Philharmonia Baroque and Cal Performances.
Featured speakers will be Alex Ross, author and New Yorker columnist; Anne Midgette of the Washington Post; USC Professor of Journalism Tim Page; writer and arts critic John Rockwell; WSJ critic and author Heidi Waleson. Institute Founder Stephen Rubin, president and publisher, Henry Holt & Company will join the panel to weigh in on both writing and editing.
Panel Disscussions are free and open to the public. For the events which coincide with a musical performances, admission is granted by purchasing a ticket to that event. Certain talks are scheduled as pre-performance talks.
