For those Pilgrims who didn’t make it to Tirane, Albania, tenor Roy Stevens has forwarded some You Tube video clips from the production of Tannhäuser in the Albanian capital. The Wagner Society provided support for this project with grants from the William O. Cord Memorial Grant Fund.

This was the first opera by Richard Wagner to be performed in Tirane, Albania. The orchestra was conducted by Jonathan Khuner who has been a great friend of the Wagner Society of Northern California. WSNC Grant Awardees Roy Stevens and Annalisa Winbergh were in the cast as Tannhäuser and Elizabeth/Venus as well as their daughter Carolina Stevens as the shepherd.
