Well, it’s not Wagner! However, pianist and San Francisco Conservatory of Music faculty member Dr. William Wellborn has presented a very fine lecture for the Society, concertized at our last Cosima Party and was instrumental in collaborating with the Wagner Society on concerts and events surrounding Richard Wagner’s 200th Jubilee.
We’re returning the favor and letting you know that Wellborn will give a recital in celebration of his 25th Anniversary of his debut recital at Old First Church.
Selections include sonatas of Haydn and Beethoven, the waltz which is a rarely-heard solo version of Invitation to the Dance by Weber, the Mephisto Waltz #1 of Franz Liszt, music of French composers Debussy and Charles-Valentin Alkan. There will be a special treat to conclude the concert – Wellborn will perform encores selected by the audience.
The recital will take place Sunday October 27th at 4:00 p.m. at Old First Church for more information www.oldfirstconcerts.org or phone 415 474-1608
Tickets are $17 General Admission, $14 Senior Admission and $5 Full Time Student Admission – seating is open so plan to arrive early for the best seats.
