It was reported in Norman Lebrecht’s “Slipped Disc” blog and also on Deutsche Kulturrat that Parsifal will have its Chinese debut in Bejing in 2013.

A production created by Michael Schulz and conducted by Christian Thielemann will originate at the Salzburg Festival at Easter time 2013. The production will then move to Dresden Semper Opera. There are plans in the works to take this Parsifal production to Bejing in October 2013 utilizing the China Philharmonic Orchestra and scheduled to be led by Peter Schneider.

Lebrecht’s followers indicate that this is the first Parsifal in China, but that it is not an Asian premier. Japan holds that honor.
