As unlikely as it sounds . . .

Superstar diva Anna Netrebko has announced that  “ina” roles are out and the heavier roles are moving “in”. It was reported in the October issue of the Russian magazine Tatler that Ms. Netrebko is moving into new territory because her voice has deepend over the past few years. This was also reported in the Wall Street Journal:

Anna Netrebko is scheduled to open the Metropolitan Opera 2013-2014 season with Tatania in Eugene Onegin and other roles include Leonore in Il Trovatore, Lady Macbeth, Manon Lescault and she is scheduled to take on the role of Elsa in Lohengrin in Dresden in their 2016 season. This year Ms. Netrebko is singing the role of Adina in Elixir of Love at the Metropolitan Opera.

The glitzy cover photo shows that glamorous Anna has returned to her shapely pre-pregnancy figure.
