There is an Application for everything.

WSNC Received an e-mail introducing a new Wagner App for IPhone which has leitmotive and many other interesting features. Wagadmin doesn’t use an IPhone so if you are a user, it would be interesting for members to give it a test drive and report back.

Here is the e-mail and you’re on your own.

NAME = Rich Fackenthal
COMMENT = I have just written and published a new iPhone app which should be of interest to you:
Wagner Ring. This is a list of ~150 of the important Leitmotifs in Wagner’s Ring, along with a piano rendition played by me.

The themes are listed in an expandable table grouped by opera, then by first appearance of the theme within the opera.

This is a great tool to learn the meanings of the principal musical themes of the drama, and will enhance the Ring-goer’s understanding and enjoyment of a performance.

Below is a promo code good for a free copy. Please try it out, let me know what you think, and pass this on to your members!

If there is sufficient interest, I might want to advertise this on your web site or publications. Please advise if there are such opportunities.

Search for Wagner Ring in the iPhone app store (on the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad).
Find the “Redeem” button

There are a limited number of codes available (apparently an Apple rule when writing Apple Applications for IPhone and other IProducts). WSNC will have an allocation of five codes.

So write to Rich Fackenthal at the address above and he will send you one – first come, first served.
