Intermezzo Blog reports from her UK Beat
May 21, 2012
According to Intermezzo Typepad Blog, Ben Heppner scored a success in a performance of Tristan und Isolde in Cardiff, Wales. The WNO Tristan revival of a 20-year-old production had it’s first performance Saturday May 19th. Intermezzo reports that Heppner suffered a small vocal flaw in Act II and tired (who wouldn’t) in Act III but otherwise performed splendidly. This bodes well for his upcoming Tristan und Isolde in Houston, opposite the incandescent Nina Stemme as Isolde.
